Posture and Powerfully Presenting

Leveller

Body alignment is symmetrical, equally balanced throughout. Feet in line with knees, hips and shoulders. Head relaxed and balanced effortlessly. Gestures would be hands held with palms down and all hand movements are downward. Voice tone inflects down at the end of a sentence or specific word. KEEP your hands out of pockets, and never behind your back. Always by your side relaxed and balanced, if you must do something with your hands other than relaxed by your side then hold them in front gently knitted together and keep your shoulders relaxed.

The meaning that this posture demonstrates to the audience is: 'this is the way it is'

Placator

Body alignment is symmetrical as in the leveller, equally balanced throughout. The difference is in the hand gestures. Gestures would be hand palms upward, hand movements upward and outward. The voice tone inflects mainly up with spontaneous downward inflections. This posture is more animated than leveller.

The meaning that this posture demonstrates to the audience is: 'I want to please you' (with voice inflection down)

and 'Help me, I am open' (with voice inflection up).

Blamer

Body alignment is asymmetrical, usually off balance on one foot. Gestures are leaning forward with the body at an angle and directing with one hand pointed toward the audience or member of the audience. This gesture is used for extreme effect using one finger pointing, or a less aggressive approach with the whole hand pointing toward the audience in a relaxed manner. Voice inflection down.

The meaning that this posture demonstrates to the audience is: 'It is down to you' and 'You can see what will happen'.

Computer - This posture is known as the 'thinker' with a body alignment that can be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. Gestures are hand leaning on chin with frown on brow with arms folded. Voice inflection can be up or down.

The meaning that this posture demonstrates to the audience is: 'I am reasonable, logical and sensible'(with voice inflection up) and 'I am giving you my full undivided concentration on this matter'(with voice inflection down)
