Click to find out why one person can evoke such Pleasure and others such Repulsion?

Your Ten Guaranteed ways to Establishing Impact Communication

Do you create Repulsion or Pleasure in your communications?

Establishing deep communication is a challenge and if you like an adventure then you will value the information contained in these pages. Firstly, I want to eradicate any thought that to cause ‘repulsion’ is an evil act with egotistical under-tones. That is reserved for film producers such as Stephen King. I am concerned with the emotional impact your whole demeanour delivers when you stand in front of an audience or talk on a one to one basis. Do you drive them away with your deliverance or create the focus of pleasure in their minds?

Defining Repulsion (chambers on-line + my expansion toward the act of interaction)

  • Drive away, back or repel.

To achieve this during the interaction ignore the beliefs and valuesof the other person

  • Act in a discourteous manner.

Talk over them and keep restating what they say in your languageand not theirs - Guaranteed to work!

  • Reject another or refute them.

Mismatch the body language, breathing and speech pace and rhythm – that should to do it… Results guaranteed every time to ‘ Cause feelings of repulsion'.

Well done you have now repelled them!

Defining Pleasure (chambers on-line)

  • Satisfaction derived from what is to one's liking.

Mirror, match, pace, test and lead their body language.

  • Worldly or frivolous enjoyment and the pursuit of pleasure.

Ask questions to ascertain what is important to them.

  • Sensual satisfaction.

Stimulate the interaction with excellence in rapport abilities.

  • A pleasurable quality or demeanour.

Mirror, match, pace, test, lead and build rapport.

  • One's will, desire, or choice.

Demonstrate respect for their beliefs and values and listen at level three to develop and deepen trust and respect. Visit free e-class on 3 Levels of Listening for more details.

During an interaction you are either in the business of building or destroying trust. When you establish deep trust you develop Rapport, and rapport is the most important characteristic in ‘unconscious’ human communication, for more information on rapport, browse our free e-class Rapport and Body Language. As you develop deep ‘subliminal rapport’ you will be creating a feeling of pleasure by engaging in a manner that is pleasing, satisfying and in pursuit of agreement, albeit not harmony. When your rapport abilities are less than adequate you will be in the danger zone of ‘establishing repulsion’ toward how you are behaving, talking and thinking. It is not that the audience or individual is being repulsed by you, but rather by your actions. These actions are now being interpreted as discourtesy. This creates a feeling of distrust and so the audience is driven back from engaging with you. From there they will pull up barriers and you are left on the other side wondering... What happened there? The answer is that Rapport was out of alignment and therefore the emotions moved toward repulsion and not pleasure. So what is rapport and how do you develop this ability to communicate at the unconscious level?
