No one quite anticipated the far-reaching chaos that this current round of recession fever would bring to every day normal business dealings. Staff are under increasing stresses externally, but Leaders still must handle these situations, as the daily lives of individuals affect and inter-relate with organisational requirements.
The effective development of these leaders is a continuing challenge with exciting opportunities for future leaders to develop teams more rapidly, to resist stress, and to adapt more quickly and effectively in complex, volatile, and unstructured environments. Dispersed departments will challenge them where traditional notions of cohesion and chains of command may be difficult to achieve.
