Ultimate Mind Control

Making fear your best friend....

How visualisation works

The brain cannot distinguish between an event which is experienced, and one which is vividly imagined. We cannot think or imagine without some level of physical response occurring. In visualisation, thoughts and images lead to neurological patterns, which in turn, lead to muscular responses. With the repetition of a sequence of thoughts and images, in other words a visualisation, the associated pattern in the nervous system is strengthened and the responses that are imagined have a higher probability of occurring in the actual situation.

Visualisation affects the body

Vivid and detailed visualisation can create a powerful effect on the body. Vividness and precision in visualisations create a physical sensation in the body. This kinaesthetic or "feeling" component of the visualisation is of vital importance. Feeling and sensing the experience as it is being pictured signifies that the muscles and nervous system are being strongly imprinted by the visualisation.

Visualisation means skilful use of images

Visualisation is different from internal narration or dialogue. Although words and thoughts can help to focus images, visualisation primarily involves the use of mental images, not thoughts. Images or pictures are the primary content of visualisations because words cannot be generated at a fast enough rate to describe events as they occur.

Visualisation: The language that builds success

Imagery is the most effective language in which a top performer can communicate with themself. Visualisation allows for a vast amount of information to be conveyed, and engages a different part of the mind than strictly rational, linear thinking. The mental processes with visualisation assists the top performer to remain in the free flowing state that is associated with peak performance.

Visualisation is focused mental work

The development of skill in visualisation involves imagery control: being able to control the series of images, the rate or tempo, enhance the vividness and precision, translating intent or desire into pictures, creating images that produce a kinaesthetic effect on the body. There is a vast difference between visualisation and daydreaming.

Visualisation is focused mental work that sharpens the real skills being viewed. By developing visualisation skill, top performers can develop the ability to construct visualisations that are powerful mental tools.

An Age Old Visualisation Technique to Expand Your Knowledge

Over the centuries, human beings have developed many techniques to gain access to their inner wisdom and develop key abilities. One technique that many people have found very beneficial is to have an imaginary guide that they can call on for advice and insight. A modern variation of this technique has been developed by intelligence researcher Dr. Win Wenger, and it is detailed in his book "The Einstein Factor".

This exercise is sometimes called "Putting on the Expert's Head"

This technique enables you to access some of the enormous untapped potential that resides in the mind of all of us. This technique can even accelerate your ability to develop a new skill. It gives you access to parts of yourself that you are normally not aware of.

The first step is to decide what knowledge or skill you would like to develop in yourself. What are you interested in that you would like to do better? You might wish to improve your skill at public speaking, portrait painting, mountaineering, or playing a musical instrument. Once you have decided what skill or knowledge you would like to develop, take some time to think about those people you consider an expert in this chosen field. Whose skills do you admire? Who do you think of as a great role model and expert in the field?
