Voice Vitality Master Class

Be commanding, credible and memorable…

Voice Inflection Down; is interpreted by the listener, that this is a command to attention, and that what you are saying is to be believed. No argument, debate or discussion is requested, and with voice inflection down your audience totally accepts that which you have delivered. You have conviction, command and confidence in your voice tones and, therefore, your audience follows your every word.

Consider the deep tones of General Mike Jackson. His manner of speech sends a direct signal to the brain to listen, pay attention, believe me I mean business and I am confident, strong and capable. I know what I am doing and you can put your trust in me, completely.

As you are reading this you may be thinking, wow, so inflection down tonal marking is the way to get the audiences’ attention and to build trust and confidence in my deliverance. I will have command, conviction and credibility in my voice. And you would be right.

Caveat when using Voice Inflection Down Tonal Marking

Over use of inflection down tone will incite in the audience a feeling that they are being talked down to. There is a possibility that some members of the audience may take exception to your deliverance and become aggressive, especially at question time. Others will remember you for all of the wrong reasons. Instead of commanding with conviction and credibility, you will be over commanding with a manner that may be construed as condescending.
